Access Control is; as it's name suggests, the ability to Control Access, whether that be via FOB or Card Readers, Finger Print Readers, Code Pads or a combination of any of the above.  As a general rule, Access Control is a Commercial Application, all up until recent times.
Inside a Commercial Door (there is an Exit Button and a Break Glass Emergency Exit Button) and Outside a Commercial Door with a simple Card Reader.  The Card Reader is time based only allowing Staff to enter during Business Hours, and conditional on Staff Management having already turned the alarm off for the day.

By nature an Access Control System will be programmed to allow/disallow Access and Egress depending on many factors.  Some Doors are Fire Doors, and will set off the alarm if they are used, and others are the authorised means of Access and Egress.  We can also link this to a Camera System so that an image is captured each time the Door is used, for future reference to check that the User is valid.
The Building Education Revolution grants have made a big impact on technology in schools. Access Control for many reasons including Safety, Fire, Student and Teacher Access/Egress as well as Unwanted Access Control.

For these Domestic Residents, their Access Control consists of Security Door Control, FOB Readers, Finger Print Readers and Handheld Remote Controls. Not only was the Integration between Systems quite complicated to Install but the Door Strike was routed and sunk into 200 Year Old Antique Hand Made French Doors. You may notice on the inside of the door, the Clipsal CBus light switch (bottom), Ness security keypad (top) and the matching series of Clipsal plate for the door lock release (middle).



 

Gate Control and Access is also Integratable with any Access Control System.  Again these Rustic Gates were fabricated and engineered in order to be Automated and controlled from the Intercom, EKey Finger Print Readers, Ness FOB Reader and Handheld Remote Controls.  The intercom, finger print reader, and FOB reader have been fitted into a custom made stainless steel face plate.
