Security systems are not limited to a simple "burgler alarm" today.
Modern security systems are a combination of intrusion alarm, code pads, swipe cards, FOBs, finger print readers, hand held remote controls, iPhone access, camera systems, intercom systems and the integration to other systems like lighting control.

In this picture there is the intercom and finger print reader.  The electric strike in the door can be operated from either a valid finger print swipe, or from the home owner on the intercom, iPhone, green exit button (on the inside of the house) or the touch screen.  There is also a camera just out of view showing the image on every TV in the house.

A valid finger print read opens the door, turns the alarm off and if it is dark, turns on some lights.  This type of result is standard for us and we do it on most jobs.   The point of being an integrator, is to integrate different systems and make them function as one.
